A smile

Two young children are perched on top of a house during a flood. As they sit watching articles float by in the water, they noticed a large old hat go past.

Suddenly, the hat turns and comes back upstream. Then it turns around again and heads downstream. After it had gone some distance, again it turned and came back.

The children watched as it did this a number of times.

"Do you see that hat? First it goes downstream, then turns around and comes back, then it goes back down- stream and then it comes back again."

"Oh, it's only my Dad. This morning my Mom said, "You have to mow the lawn today come hell or high water.

tiger woods

Tim Dahlberg of The Associated Press/The Canadian Press has an
article on Tiger Woods, 1/5/11 Regarding Tigers golf woes.

In it he quotes a psychologist named Sharon Chirban as being of the opinion that Tiger is unable to handle the shame of his extra marital affairs. She could be correct, though, without him completely opening up and pouring out his feelings we won't know.
I believe he is just plain angry. Angry that he got caught, that the people he entertained didn't forgive him, that Elin wouldn't give him another chance.
This is a classic case Tiger of " What were you thinking"?
Did it never occur to you that eventually one of the 14 women
could reach out and touch say, the National Enquirer? That, routinely dangles big money for juicy stories of the misdeeds of the rich and famous.
The past is the past Tiger, the future is where you need to get to.
I read that you are trying this and trying that even to the point of changing your golf swing. Good luck with that one.
From what I've seen your short game is around 75% of what it was, but your fairway hitting is awful. If you vastly improve your drive to the green your short game will improve on confidence alone. And that old magic will return. So I suggest that right from the first tee you shoot for centre fairway approximately half the distance to the edge of the green say 200ft. Most anyone who shoots a round of 90 on a Sunday
morning can do that. This will leave say about 225 to the green on your 2nd shot. You par the hole. Sure everyone wants birdies and eagles but you don't. You want consistency, which along with it will come confidence, which along with it comes the magic. Each and every hole after that is a brand new game.
Hit dead centre 200yards or half the distance to the green. Remember although you are only playing par, at least your not off in 4ft rough. or in 5ft of water. O.K. you just played 2 holes and you are in the same position as the rest of the leaders. Oh a couple may be a stroke or two ahead but there is still 70 holes to go and your confidence is gaining. How good would you feel about getting to the end of the front nine hitting every fairway exactly where you intended to. On the back nine you now try to place one 300 yds in middle, if it was successful you try again on number 11. If it wasn't you revert back to just half the distance. Keep in mind that by doing this you could in all likelihood pick up two or three birdies over the 18 holes. How would that make you feel in the clubhouse? What position are your adversaries in and more importantly are they getting a little nervous that Tiger is a threat again. Never forget, it's one step at a time on comebacks.
Speaking for all of us duffers out here if we are teeing off aiming to hit the ball 150yds, it better be on the fairway consistently or else we won't get many invites to play a round. Any top golfer should have no trouble doing so at
200/250 yds weather permitting of course.
Get out of this mentality of trying to murder the ball. The ball is your friend, don't let it out of you sight unless it's in the cup.
I know you have changed your swing before successfully, but you weren't 35y.o. and it wasn't following knee surgery, and it wasn't after the most stressful year of your life. Start winning again and then decide if you want a
new swing. The old one will do for now. Just sayin'
Good luck.

jokes

For an art project the first grader handed in a blank sheet of paper.

The teacher said, "What is this?"

"It's a drawing of a cow eating grass."

"Where's the grass?"

"The cow ate all of it"

"Then, where's the cow?"

"The cow left because there was no more grass."

This came across my desk a couple of days

ago while I was reading my daily communique

of the www.daily dirt diaspora.com blogged

by M.O.P. Jerky. What this man can do with

the english language Henry Ford did with

tin. But don't take my word for it hop on

and enjoy for yourself. You won't agree with

everything he writes but it's not about

that. It's more about challenging that gray

matter of yours to reaffirm, clarify, and

state, your opinions. Another piece of

advertising and then off we go. Jango. Do

you like music? Yep, your kind of music.

Songs you select and collect into your own

little radio station of sorts. Well over to

www.Jango.com you go. All the genre's are

there just select or pass, or type in your

favorite artist or song and don't pass on

the opportunity to pick tomorrows stars.

Every dozen or so songs a window will open

with a song by an up and coming artist and

you get to thumb it up or down, and write a

critique if you care to. If you do you can

expect a thank you email inside the program.

This gem of info I started out talking about

is that back in 2002 a British M.P. up and

offered to share Gibraltar with Spain. I kid

you not. I can't stop shaking my head over

this one.

The people of Gibraltar, the small, fiercely

British colony at the tip of southern Spain,

overwhelmingly rejected the idea of shared

ownership/governing. The last time Gibraltar

voted on the issue, in 1967, 12,138 were in

favour of continuing ties to Britain and 44

against. Duh! Apparently these recent talks

with Spain had been going on for 18 years.

Who thinks all this stuff up? Should Canada

be governed by the Britain and France? Fast forward to today and the Mail online reports A deal reportedly struck between Britain and Spain to share the sovereignty of Gibraltar today outraged opposition and Labour politicians.

The Foreign Office insisted no agreement had been made about the future of the British colony and any decisions would be put to its inhabitants in a referendum.
